Perception of Investors Towards Gold as an Investment Avenue in India

Abstract
The authors in this paper try to explore the reasons for mounting demand for gold in India in spite of continuous rise in price. Attempt has been made to identify factors which influence purchase of gold among Indian consumers. The study finds that demographic characteristics such as age, gender, marital status, occupation and income level have influence on the decision regarding purchase of gold.
